Placement

For my placement I spent the week in a charity I am already a part of.  The charity is called SNAP Cymru and they support parents with children who have disabilities (physical and learning) and act as the middle man between them, schools and the local authorities.  During my week there I spoke to many parents, and took on 3 cases of my own that are currently still going.  Being there has made my mind more open after hearing different sides of every story I hear :)

Boxing Day!

On boxing day I worked from 9am-6:30pm in the Parc y Scarlets for the match between the Scarlets and the Ospreys.  I was only doing it as a favour to a friend who needed staff to help out for the day! It was a good atmosphere and I enjoyed the work, and the pay helped me enjoy also :) It was a busy day, and a different way of work compared to pub work.  We were in the part called 'The Barn' which has a family area and an over 18's area, which is where i was working.  At the end of the shift, when everyone had moved on either home, or to the nearest pub, the manager asked us if we would be able to help out for other match days...which I was happy to do :)

Christmas :)

As I live at home during uni there was no packing to be done, so I had even more time for shopping which suited me perfectly :) I did the routine visits to other family members in the week before christmas so that christmas day I could stay at home with my mother, step dad and step brother, although I did go and see my dad in the morning.  Come mid-day me and my step brother went for a drink (or 3) then went home for our christmas dinner!! It was lovely :) 

Cannot believe my friend found this lil'fella in a bush...how could someone just leave it there!!! She is unsure on a name yet so i'll keep you updated on the lil'one :) x

Project

I have finally decided that the topic I will use for my project is fashion individuality :) I have decided on this because I am interested in fashion history and fashion in general. It will be interesting to go into depths on the cliques that exist in the world of fashion, and how people use it to make a statement and express their individuality.

First Group Presentation

My group, which included me, Jess, Amy and Nat decided to do our site search on Andy Warhol.  We chose this subject because we all shared an intrest in some of his work.  To come across the site we thought was reliable we typed his name into google and clicked on a few links until we found one we thought looked ok.  We then did a site: check on the site to see what would come up.  When we were sure the sight was reliable we decided to use it as our example for the presentation.
